Ahmedabad based Designers Poonam and Rohit launched their label  ‘Siyahi’ while still at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Gandhinagar. Contemporary in its appeal, yet richly traditional in soul, Siyaahi creates ensembles that spell elegance and intricacy.
The label, Siyaahi, was launched in 2010 by the gifted duo, Poonam Sanghani and Rohit Dubey.
The label, Siyaahi, was launched in 2010 by the gifted duo, Poonam Sanghani and Rohit Dubey.
In their latest collection for Lakmé  Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013 “Starry Night”, Poonam and Rohit aim to bring to you an expression of the soul of the denim fabric. Their upcoming creation spells youth, freedom and heritage. Beautiful indigo shades of denim have been draped onto indo-western curves and then embellished with sophisticated embroideries.
The duo explains, “On the skies of denim silhouettes every meteor and star has been very carefully aligned, this is our vision of Starry Night. Each garment is an embodiment of the legacy of the denim fabric molded into contemporary designs and finally adorned with very subtle embroideries which enhances the overall look of the creation.”
Sequins, pearls, metal wires have all been used very delicately to give glimpses of a starry night in certain parts of the garment with a balanced mix of heavy embroidery in other areas. In shades of blue along with ochre yellow, deep red, off-white and black, the pair has tried to bring forth the new avatar of denim along with hints of silk.
Known for their fresh take on traditional elements as well as unique use of crafts, the label has grown from one force to another and gathered many accolades on the way. Watch out for this pair’s creativity at the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013.

Tone on tone thread embroidery with a hint of metallic thread using peeta & zardozi hand embroidery techniques to highlight the motif. Dainty rosettes embroidered with some shimmer sprinkled & decorated with pearls.

The colors have a dusty yet fresh pastel hue for a very subtle feel that will match a global setting. One sees colors like peach bloom, sand beige , rose dawn , moonlight , dusty aqua , chocolate brown , beaujolais wine and such eye pleasing floral tones in the collection .
